Pack Committee

A Cub Scout Pack Committee should consist of at least three people.  The Committee Chair, and two committee members.  Den leaders and the cubmaster are not counted as part of your committee.  Even though I include my Cub Master in every committee planning meeting we have.  He or she is a vital component of making a Pack Go.

The Jobs/Positions I have in my pack are the following:
  • Pack Committee Chair
  • Location Coordinator & Refreshments
  • Treasurer & Public Relations
  • Advancement & Training
Pack Committee Chair:
  • Oversees the pack committee that supports the pack program
  • Conducts a monthly committee meeting to coordinate pack assets to help the other pack leaders
  • Ensures that the pack program meets the aims and methods of the BSA and that all activities follow safety guidelines
  • Oversees the financial needs of the pack
  • Oversees the recognition of youth
  • Ensures that Rechartering and Quality Unit/ Journey to Excellence requirements are met
Location Coordinator & Refreshments:
  • Call all auxillaries to confirm Cub Scouts can have their pack meeting in the gym
  • Calls families to remind families of their refreshment duties
Advancement & Training:
  • Help train all leaders (get trained and get leaders trained)
  • Help den leaders keep track of boy advancement (gain knowledge of the advancement program)
  • Arrange for Webelos graduation ceremonies with the Cubmaster, Webelos Den Leader, Scoutmaster
  • Put together graduation 11-year old scout booklets for graduating Webelos into the 11-year old program  
  • Meets with Committee monthly or whenever meetings are held
  • Prints out Advancement Reports before every pack meeting to turn into Council 
  • Works to keep the BSA standards when working with the cub scouts
Treasurer & Public Relations (right now this is our primary leader representative):
  • Calls Ward Bulletin Coordinator to add pack meeting announcement to have it in the 2nd Sunday’s bulletin.
  • Places Poster out in foyer two-three weeks prior to Pack Meeting
  • Keeps $ in the Scout Shop
  • Collects Receipts for Reimbursement
  • Takes care of  $ for rechartering and registration fees
  • Needs to keep budget information current
